Benefits for my organisation?

The blogging package we are developing aims at achieving the following goals for social enterprises / community sector:

1. Give participants a solid understanding of the potential and application of blogging in their own context.

2. Creates excitement from sponsors and helps the process move forward smoothly, at a pace, ensuring social enterprise is not left behind due to real or perceived barriers.

3. Fits strategically and cost-effectively with organisational goals (eg. marketing, stakeholder relations, fundraising, engagement, participation, professional development, organisational development)

4. Delivers tangible, measurable results (eg. skills, increase in awareness, funds raised).

5. Moves from direct participants back into, and around, the organisation

6. Works in the long-term

7. Develops self-supporting learning communities

8. Introduces concepts, confidence and understanding of the wider social media space.

What’s in it for me?

Connect, express, learn, create.

All of the above! In addition, individuals that attend will develop:

  • New skills in communication, writing and using the internet
  • Conceptual understanding of blogging, internet communications and social media
  • New contacts within your sector
  • A positive sense of your own capabilities
  • Time by the seaside at a lovely venue with fun, positive people - to recharge your batteries and reinspire you about what’s possible. Our training days are in Brighton but clients come from all over the UK for the half-day sessions.s

“Helped me to just jump on the blogging train and get moving… The course got me into action and increased my learning and Libby was a lot of fun to be with. Met some nice people too.”

The training & development package looks something like this:

1. Pre-workshop assessment, needs analysis and “talent scouting”.

2. 2-3 half-day hands-on workshops - Maximum 10 participants.

3. Screencasts you can play and replay when you wish to cover technical aspects in a fun and friendly manner. Made personally by your trainer / consultants. Licensedor 12 months (all staff in organisation can have access). A full series will be developed to cover all major questions.

4. Weekly one-on-one phone-in clinic

5. On-line supervision

6. 1m and 3m follow-up

7. Access to all Authentic Blogging blog posts and materials, with license for reproduction and non-commerical use throughout your organisation.

There are other services available as add-on modules and packages to cover integration issues with existing websites, consultancy for further extension and in-house training > extension.

We are very keen to develop the package in concert with the sector, as workshopped in discussions with people like yourselves. If there is anyone you think we should be talking to, I would welcome their contact details.

What will it cost?

I am aware that we cannot charge what the corporate world are able to pay, and are even willing to offer a free place and a sliding scale. Cost of the total package is looking like:

100% @ £845 - total 6 individuals / organisations
80% @ £695 - total 3 individuals / organisations
0% fully sponsored - 1 individual / organisation

We were aiming to offer the package three times in 2008 - starting May, October & December.
